Bebashi hosts first COVID-19 vaccination event

The event, a partnership with Miriam Medical Clinics and Temple University Hospital, was held to encourage more people of color to get vaccinated.

Philadelphia, PA (April 26, 2021) –  Bebashi – Transition to Hope is playing its part in the fight against COVID -19.

On Saturday, April 24, the organization, in collaboration with Miriam Medical Clinics and Temple University Hospital, hosted a COVID-19 vaccination event at its Spring Garden Street office.

Approximately 50 people received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the event and have scheduled their appointments to receive their second dose in four weeks.

“We are very grateful for this collaboration with Miriam Medical Clinics and Temple University Hospital because, with their help, more of our Bebashi clients, and the broader community, have access to the vaccine and can feel a sense of relief, now that they have taken the first step to being protected against the virus,” said Alvin Kingcade, Practice Manager, Bebashi Wellness Clinic.

The vaccination event falls in line with Bebashi’s mission to empower Black and brown people to enhance the quality of their health and overall well-being by providing access to culturally sensitive, high-quality healthcare, HIV/AIDS services, health education and social services.
