Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Bebashi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering integrative patient care, promoting safety, and ensuring the well-being of all patients. Working under the guidance of the Supervisor, this position involves collaboration with fellow staff, clinicians, and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care delivery. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for front desk coverage, including patient check-in and fee collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general patient care following established procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for healthcare providers.
  • Obtain and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems.
  • Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines through various methods.
  • Perform routine tests, including EKGs.
  • Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and ensure follow-up to completion.
  • Communicate with patients regarding test results and plans of care as directed.
  • Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments, maintain equipment, and keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record.
  • Escalate non-routine issues, questions, or concerns to Manager.
  • Ensure safety checklist and quality controls are completed as required.
  • Uphold patient safety and privacy rights.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Manager or requested by healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three years of experience supporting a medical practice.
High school diploma or equivalency required.
Formal training in medical assisting from a technical school or associate’s degree program is preferred.
Certification in Medical Assisting is required.
