Project Coordinator-Hunger Relief & Outreach Initiative

Bebashi – Transition to Hope seeks to hire a full-time Project Coordinator to implement and operationalize its Hunger Relief and Outreach initiative in North and Northwest Philadelphia as a part of its Health Enterprise Zone (HEZ) award from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Background Summary:  As a HEZ partner, Bebashi – Transition to Hope aims to accomplish three primary goals: 1) Address food insecurity and provide holistic resources to low-income and/or people living in poverty within HEZ zip codes; 2) Increase access to quality and culturally-sensitive healthcare, health insurance, and assistance programs through one-to-one client navigation; and 3) Provide direct linkages and referrals to care for HEZ residents who may need help navigating the healthcare and assistance systems.

Reporting to the Hunger Relief and Community Outreach Specialist, the Project Coordinator will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as well as community leaders to conduct outreach and meet the goals as articulated above.

Additional duties of the Project Coordinator are as follows:

  • Collaborate with human resources to oversee the hiring of Peer Support Worker (PSW) staff.
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and training of PSW staff.
  • Conducts project research and data collection in partnership with the organization’s full-time Data Manager.
  • Conducts outreach in targeted zip codes to develop linkages and referral resources for HEZ residents.
  • Development of a resource guide to serve as a conduit for ongoing information gathering.
  • In partnership with the Data Manager, ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Commonwealth in compliance with grant award compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS (Requirements, Skills, and Abilities)


  1. Requires minimum of (2) two to four (4) years of project management or program administration experience.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.


  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.


  1. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is a must.


  1. Ability to work autonomously as well as under direct supervision required.


  1. A relationship builder who can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
