Prevention Navigator

Bebashi – Transition to Hope is seeking a Prevention Navigator to work with clients in underserved communities; primarily African-American and Latino communities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Prevention Navigator will determine eligibility to participate in Navigation services.  In addition, the selected candidate will screen and test clients for HIV, STIs and pregnancy, conduct short-term counseling sessions, conduct sexual health educational presentations and workshops and provide referral services to clients for psychosocial services.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The qualified candidate will possess:

  • An associate’s degree (bachelor’s preferred) in human services or a related field;
  • 2 years of experience working with high-risk HIV clients and HIV/AIDS education,
  • Certification in HIV/AIDS prevention and testing;
  • Willingness to travel to impoverished areas of Philadelphia;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • The ability to work with people from all walks of life and ethnicities;
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Office products;
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time

COMPENSATION: $35,000.00 – $38,000.00 per year
