The PSW will be a member of the Health Enterprise Zone (HEZ) Project team. They will conduct community outreach, participate in research on food insecurity, and assist with operating Bebashi’ s school-based and community pantries in Port Richmond, Strawberry Mansion and Kensington. The Peer Support Worker must have a deep desire to work with people, as their work can be both rewarding and demanding.
PSWs are highly compassionate individuals who have good communication and interpersonal skills. It is crucial to their role that they be capable of building trust and forming impactful relationships with community residents and service providers. They may also possess first-hand experience that allows them to connect more deeply with community residents and their families.
PSWs love working with people and are interested in helping them access services that will improve the lives of individuals and/or their families.
Employment will be part-time with a minimum of up to 25 hours per week. Pay will begin at $14.00 per hour.
