Development Associate

 

Bebashi Transition to Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the social determinants affecting the health of economically disenfranchised individuals and families in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area is seeking a full-time Development Associate to assist in the organization’s external fundraising initiatives.

Summary: This is a wonderful opportunity to build and enhance skills in nonprofit development/fundraising, marketing and communications, project management, and relationship-building. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a passion to help further Bebashi’s mission and enhance our programs. He/she/they will help to shape the trajectory of the organization’s overall fundraising and external relations strategies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in overseeing all fundraising activities for Bebashi – Transition to Hope;
  • Oversees the daily operational functions of the Development Department;
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and accurate data in Salsa, Bebashi’s donor management software;
  • Maintains a robust prospect pipeline, to include prospect research;
  • Partners with the Director of Development to create and execute the annual Development Plan;
  • Responsible for drafting and implementing all donor appeals (3-4 times/year) and direct mail, website/online, and social media strategies;
  • Assists the Director of Development in creating the Annual Report;
  • Partners with the Director of Development and program leads to write grants as well as their corresponding reports;
  • Manages a portfolio of funders and donors and ensure all deadlines are met and cultivation continues;
  • Partners with the Volunteer and Outreach Specialist on ensuring volunteer and community organization data is accurate in Salsa;
  • Develops monthly content for the organization’s eNewsletter; and
  • Partners with the Communications Specialist on creating and posting social media posts; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, communications, English, marketing, or another related field;
  • Solid writer and communicator;
  • Possesses a keen attention to detail;
  • Experience in CRM/fundraising database management a plus;
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; and
  • Passion for the Bebashi mission and working in nonprofit.
