Philly doctor calls ignorance of cultural bias another virus
Dr. Monique Gary, a Philadelphia breast cancer surgeon, community advocate, and a Bebashi board member discusses how protesters in Harrisburg who want to ignore social distancing guidelines, and demand an early re-opening of non-essential businesses in the commonwealth, are putting themselves and others in potential danger. She says the protesters flout precautions against coronavirus transmission, like the social distancing guidelines and Gov. Wolf’s stay-at-home orders, because they take adequate healthcare and access to hospitals for granted. However, there are people particularly in the inner cities that are not having a shared experience.
